House of Commons Presentation
What an honour to be invited to speak to the House of Commons Heritage Committee on the harms of social media! Here's my 5 minute talk. If you want to watch some of the Q&A click HERE.
A couple of interesting takeaways:
1. No one followed up about OnlyFans. This is a concern. Do they not understand the risk it poses?
2. One of the "charities" there is funded by META, YouTube, TikTok and Google. That's a serious conflict of interest.
3. The government wants to do what is best but the longer we talked, the more they said they were confused. There is no confusion as far as I'm concerned. We cannot trust big tech, they seek maximum profit off our children, they must be held accountable and the government MUST regulate this industry. Send this link to your MP, tell them to regulate big tech and pass the Online Safety Act!
